The Usher 701 is a classic two-way bookshelf system possessing accuracy, detail, and a transparency that must be heard to be believed! The bass response is articulate and effortless, the midrange is balanced and extremely accurate, and the high frequencies are smooth yet detailed.
This speaker kit was created for Dayton Audio by world-renowned audio authority Dr. Joseph D'Appolito. Dr. D'Appolito's engineering prowess, in combination with the Usher 9930 1-1/8" tweeter and 8945A 7" woofer, has produced what we feel is one of the most exciting speaker kits available.
Joe D'Appolito designed a speaker that is smooth and non-fatiguing, with accuracy rivaling that of many commercial studio monitors. Proven-quality Dayton and Jantzen components are used in the superbly optimized crossover. The speaker's on-axis frequency response is flat within ± 1.7 dB from 100-20,000 Hz.
Dr. D'Appolito summed up the Usher 701 kit perfectly when he said, "I'm quite satisfied with the results!", and you will be too! This speaker is reasonably priced and easy to assemble, making it perfect for any audiophile—novice or experienced.
